Water Recreation
Public water recreation facilities are licensed to meet state standards and are inspected by Environmental Health staff. Inspections ensure safety and sanitization standards are met for public pools, spas, and other water recreational facilities such as wading and spray pools. There are over a hundred licensed water recreational facilities in Chelan & Douglas counties which are comprised of public city pools, apartment complexes, homeowners’ associations, hotel/motels, camp sites, and schools. The Water Recreation Program also provides information and prevention for Recreational Water Illnesses, Water Safety, and Harmful Algal Blooms.
