Zika

Zika is a virus spread through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus) and through sexual contact. Washington State does not have the type of mosquitoes known to carry Zika virus.  In pregnant women, the virus can cause birth defects. There is no vaccine or medication for Zika.
