East Wenatchee, WA - The Chelan Douglas Health District (CDHD) announces the arrival of a team of CDC epidemiologists and community outreach experts who were invited to help support local and state efforts in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic within Chelan and Douglas County.
To gain a better understanding of how COVID-19 is affecting the local community, the CDC team will be interviewing a cross-section of community members and groups starting on Friday, September 25 through Monday, September 28, 2020. To accomplish this work, the CDC will be working closely with local community outreach workers and students from the Wenatchee Valley College to conduct phone and door-to-door surveys.
In an effort to have as accurate of a sample as possible, the CDHD requests help and cooperation from the community by answering your door or phone when a member of the CDC team, community outreach worker, or student contacts you for the survey. Team members can be identified by either a green or orange fluorescent-colored construction vest and a “CDHD VOLUNTEER” badge. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 509-886-6476 (COVID-19 English line) or 509-886-6477 (COVID-19 Spanish line).
In conclusion of the CDC’s work and efforts, they will present their findings and recommendations to community organizations and partners to the CDHD and the state.
The CDC team would like to thank the CDHD and the residents of Chelan and Douglas County in advance for inviting them to visit our beautiful community and for the collaboration in helping respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
