East Wenatchee, WA – The Chelan-Douglas Health District Medical Reserve Corps (CDMRC) will host a kick-off event at noon on Tuesday, August 27th at the Health District on Valley Mall Parkway in East Wenatchee.
The Chelan-Douglas Health District Medical Reserve Corps is part of a Nation-wide network of community-based, civilian volunteers established to help build public health response and capacity within the community. To date, the Medical Reserve Corps is a network of over 300,000 amazing volunteers throughout the United States.
Chelan-Douglas Health District received approval by ASPR in December of 2023 to set up the Chelan-Douglas Medical Reserve Corps. Over the last several months, Lexy Lieurance, the CDMRC Program Coordinator has developed the CDMRC program, training materials, recruited and vetted several volunteers to join the program. Lexy Lieurance shared, “I am excited to be standing up the Chelan-Douglas Medical Reserve Corps of medical and non-medical volunteers so these volunteers will be available to support our community if there is a wide scale event.”
Volunteers with the CDMRC will participate in various emergent and non-emergent operations throughout Chelan and Douglas Counties. Assignments can vary widely based on volunteer availability, training and nature of the situation. Volunteers will prepare for and respond to public health emergencies by completing a variety of activities within the local emergency health system in the two county area. If you are interested in joining the Chelan-Douglas Medical Reserve Corps, please submit the CDMRC Interest Form.
