East Wenatchee, WA – As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, hospitals across the state are nearing or at capacity with COVID19 and non-COVID19 cases. Information coming out of Spokane, Whatcom, and Chelan-Douglas Health Districts shows the health system in Washington State is being stretched leading up to the holiday weekend.
Reaching out to Central Washington Hospital, they have seen an overall increase of non-COVID19 related hospitalizations since the middle of the pandemic. While only seven of the patients currently at Central are positive with COVID-19, all of whom were not vaccinated, they are at 98% capacity.
Leading into this weekend and beyond, be cautious with your celebrations and know that health care centers and health care workers across the state have been working tirelessly to meet the demands of this pandemic. Please use caution in your celebrations this weekend; stay safe and give your local health care providers a break.
