Increase in COVID-19 Cases

East Wenatchee, WA – Chelan-Douglas Health District (CDHD) is announcing an increase in COVID-19 cases and highly encourages general COVID-19 precautions be taken during current surge.

As expected, summer activities including the Fourth of July holiday, have contributed to the already-steady increase of COVID-19 cases throughout Chelan and Douglas counties. Our current 14 day rate is 428 cases per 100,000 individuals, which is a low estimate of transmission due to at home tests and reduced COVID-19 surveillance during the summer.

We are currently seeing an increase in COVID-19 related hospitalizations in Washington State among vulnerable populations and are monitoring hospitalizations locally.
Public health encourages everyone to take the following precautions and help keep each other safe:

• Wear a mask in public when possible 

• Wash hands often or use hand-sanitizer 

• Maintain your distance around others in public 

• Get vaccinated and/or boosted 

• Follow DOH Guidelines if you were potentially exposed to or test positive for COVID-19 

• Report home test results to 1-800-525-0127 for access to COVID-19 Care Connect Services 

• Eat well and stay hydrated! 

CDHD continues to offer COVID-19 testing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee for anyone who believes they were exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID-like symptoms. No appointment is necessary.
